SNOWDONIA LATE WINTER

Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th March 2017 - ONLY 1 PLACE LEFT!

Join me in Snowdonia for 2 days in late Winter to photograph popular locations as well as hidden treats, with the potential to venture further than other workshops dare to tread.

Snowdonia workshops are run on a weekend basis and party size is limited to three (3) so that I will be on hand to offer advice and share thoughts on composition and the landscape throughout. On the technical front it is expected that participants will know the basics of their chosen equipment but I do have knowledge of Canon, Sony and Fuji systems and limited knowledge of Nikon.

After meeting on Friday night at a local pub we will aim to be up well before dawn on Saturday to take advantage of the many sunrise opportunities that exist within a short drive. During the main part of the day from dawn to about 12.30pm I will not typically shoot myself, but may take time to do so, so that participants can get a feel for how I work which many find quite valuable to witness. I will be on hand moving between each participant in turn offering advice when needed.

After lunch, and depending on if the weather for the rest of the day looks favourable, participants can join me ‘on the hill’ for a late afternoon/sunset shoot. I will take you to a launch pad for a location that gives the best possible chance of ‘good light’ and a stunning vista. I will voluntarily lead the party on a ‘hiking basis only’ across rough and often steep terrain, walking for about 1-2 hours from the car, to an achievable summit/high level location. Once there I will be shooting for myself but will be on hand to offer further advice on how to shoot in such environments and to answer or point out any safety concerns. Participants should expect to return to the car a couple of hours after sunset. If the weather does not look so favourable given the effort involved, we shall continue under workshops conditions at a lower location until sunset.

On the Saturday night we will aim to have a pub meal in Capel Curig (not included). We can also use this time to discuss our images from the day and perhaps do a little processing if appropriate.

Sunday follows the same format as Saturday before the day ends following sunset.
